Merlin Entertainments have partnered with leading destination electric vehicle (EV) charging operator, RAW Charging. Since 2023, RAW have been working with Merlin Entertainments to supply, install, operate and maintain EV charge points across sites in England and Wales.
To get started, drivers can start a charge in one of four ways:
• With a mobile device with an active account on the
ChargePoint App
• By tapping a ChargePoint “RFID” tag or card
• With a contactless debit or credit card
• Using a contactless payment enabled device
Can I pay by debit or credit card?
Yes, the chargers across the Merlin Entertainments network are usable with credit or debit card, an RFID card/tag, mobile contactless payment, or through the ChargePoint App.
Can I speak to someone for help?
Multilingual support is available 24/7. Guests should call ChargePoint support on 020 7519 5052.
It says “plug-in now” but my cable is connected?
Often the cable is not fully inserted into the charger. Ensure the cable is pushed in until it clicks.
Do I need to pay for parking as well as charging?
Drivers are still required to purchase a Thorpe Park car parking ticket. For more information on Parking Charges, click here.
I don’t have Internet access to download the app. What can I do?
The first solution is to simply pay by contactless debit/credit. If you would prefer to still use the app, or don't have access to a contactless payment method, then you can connect to Thorpe Park's own WiFi network in order to start a charge through the app.
Why won’t my virtual card complete payment when held against the contactless reader on the charger?
If you are using an Apple device, the payment card MUST be added to your digital wallet before it will be accepted to pay using contactless.
I have just set up an account and £10 has been taken out of my bank account. Why?
This is normal and is a necessary step to determine the user has sufficient funds to make payment at the end of the charge.
